FEELING A LITTLE CHUFFED
A valued customer walked into our store the other day wearing one of our Gympie branded t-shirts. My dream to create Gympie Branded Merchandise was now a reality – people were actually wearing them, with pride. I was tickled pink!
It started as a light-bulb moment twelve months ago after numerous customers in our shop had asked for merchandise that had ‘something with Gympie on it’ and had walked out, disappointed, when nothing was available.
GYMPIE’S 150 YEAR RUSH FESTIVAL
The Rush Festival event of 2017 was fast approaching and I wanted to showcase Gympie by creating a t-shirt design that represented Gympie’s main landmark attractions. Those being the Valley Rattler, the Gympie Rotunda, the Gold Mine Poppet Head, the Gympie Mining Statue and our beautiful Jacaranda Flowers. I also wanted to include the well-known Gympie slogan ‘The town that saved Queensland’.
But I wasn’t finished – I also wanted to create a design more feminine, something with the words GYMPIE – QUEENSLAND – AUSTRALIA stacked in a shape of a heart. I had literally put my heart into this venture.
DESIGNS COME TO LIFE
With my head full of ideas, I commissioned local Aaron Lodder Design to bring my designs to life. He did a fantastic job creating the unique artwork with the results now showcased on my Gympie Branded Merchandise of t-shirts, polos, caps and drink coolers.
The Mary Valley Rattler soon noticed our Gympie Branded Merchandise range and enthusiastically asked if they could sell our t-shirts within their souvenir shop. I was amazed – and honoured – that someone other than my family and friends also loved the unique designs and they were soon in place at the gorgeously renovated Gympie Railway Station shop.
UNIQUE TO GYMPIE
Because each item is individually printed, packed and labelled here at In House Monograms (not mass-produced) you won’t find these exclusive designs anywhere but here at our own boutique and at the Mary Valley Rattler souvenir shop. We are proud to say we thought of it, we created it and the designs are 100% original.
